OUR VISION

We are building a land-based learning community.

We are striving to demonstrate that plants, animals and humans can live in harmony. A place that can be held for people and animals to heal and thrive.

By combining the philosophy of the bhakti tradition with principles of sustainable living, Bhakti Farms will be a place for people to learn and share and create a better world. If you want to be the change in the world then you need vision and examples and hope! We strive to create a  project will be a gathering space for people to learn and share skills to help one another live a compassionate and simple lifestyle that can encourage one to become their best self and then help others do the same!  Bhakti Farms will be a land-based platform to teach the practice of non-violence and to set an example of how to run a land-based project.. Applying the principles of bhakti yoga, it is easy to understand how every living entity has a spirit soul and has equal worth from birth. Bhakti Farms will be a sanctuary for all living beings and a place to learn, heal and grow.

Bhakti farms will host workshops, summer camps and retreats for all people to experience the principles of bhakti in action. These will include cooking classes, kirtan (sacred hymns) and yoga events, philosophy meetings, and animal welfare interactions. The cooking classes will include teaching people the basic skills of growing their own food, cooking simple and healthful vegetarian meals, preserving the local harvest, and making cheese, yogurt and more. We will teach how to include the most important ingredient, which is love, into all one is practicing, whether it be gardening, caring for animals, or meditating.

Bhakti Farms will teach by example, showing how to care for cows and other animals in an ahimsa way – by practicing non-violence and caring for all animals and their offspring in a loving way until they naturally meet the end of their lives.

  • ABOUT BHAKTI

The word Bhakti means devotion. Bhakti Farms means farming with devotion and love. We celebrate and honor all beliefs and traditions that awaken devotion and love in the heart. We practice a tradition that has its ancient roots in Vedic Wisdom from India - but devotion can be found to originate all over the world in many names and forms. Our philosophy is that we should all be striving to connect our actions and thoughts with love of the divine. We call the divine Krishna - which means all attractive one - and there are many names for the divine. The essence is that we learn to bring devotion and love to all we do!
